Bowling with Babies is back at Auburn Bowls Club

Bowling with babies

When Bowls Victoria asked us to be a Pilot club for a new Women’s Wellbeing program “Bowling with Babies” we were only too happy to see it run at Auburn Bowls Club.  The idea and concept is fantastic.   To get young Mothers and Babies out of the house with a group of mums for a coffee, some non competitive bowls as a light exercise.

A little more about the Bowls Victoria Program

Bowls Victoria in partnership with VicHealth and thanks to funding from the Active Women and Girls for Health and Wellbeing program launched an exciting new project this season – Mums on the Green. Our first program under that umbrella is Bowling with Babies.

Bowling with Babies at Auburn Bowls Club

Auburn Bowls club had our Pilot session in November, it was a great success.  We had new people in the club having a bowl and a great time. We had one of our members as a facilitator at the club and mentored the mums in bowling. It is hard to stat the importance of these programs to our club, bowls and the people the people that participate in these programs.  For Auburn Bowls club it is all about Community building, and we love it when we get new local community groups down to have a bowl.

It is time for a second round of the program.  Starting on Wednesday Jan 31st from 10am until 12pm, and following on Feb 7th, 14th and 21st.  We hope that we can get more mums and babies out and about, enjoying our facilities, and having a bowl.

To register interest for participation you can do that here.
