At the Auburn Bowls Club you’re always welcome — whether your interest is in the wonderful game of bowls or simply enjoying the club’s superb facilities and relaxed social environment, become a member today.

Formed in 1886 Auburn is a major part of the Hawthorn East community. We have members from all walks of life and they are only too happy to welcome new people into the club. Today, the club has more than 150 male and female members. Of these, some 60 are bowling members and the rest are non bowling members. The club has two full-size greens, one Synthetic and one Grass providing a total of 14 rinks and well-equipped change-room and locker facilities.  Inside the club we have a fantastic bar, dinning room, kitchen, and a Library.

Our bar is open most days in summer, for a relaxing afternoon roll and refreshing beverage, or come down on Thursday night for members night and happy hour.

The club has street parking a car park out the back.  There are trams and trains not too far away as well.

Auburn Bowls Club has social bowls on Wednesdays, hosted at different clubs around the inner east each week.  Barefoot bowls any weeknight and on Sundays.

For those looking for a more competitive environment, the club fields three teams in the Bowls Victoria’s Saturday metropolitan pennant competition, one team in the Tuesday pennant competition and conducts club championships in both men’s, women’s and mixed competitions.  We have coaching on Sunday mornings, and Thursday for Pennant practice.

The club also has a regular calendar of major events that it hosts and entry into these is open to bowlers from throughout the country.

Auburn Bowls Club actively encourages junior membership and runs a dedicated schools program in the local area, these sessions are held on the greens at the club.

On the social front, Auburn Bowls Club conducts a series of functions throughout the year, including the Greenlow bowls awards, Christmas functions and other special events. It also organises bowls related trips, dinners and other activities. Both bowling and non-bowling members are encouraged to participate in the club’s social program.
